UFC 310 this weekend. Yeah. I mean, dude, we're tonight. Right? It's tonight. Yes. Mhmm. Tonight, man, we'll get to the card. There's a a lot I mean, this is one of those sleeper cards that I don't know if a lot of people are shelling it out for the for this card, but it's a banger, a barn burner of it. We'll get to that. But first up, there's some weird thing that came up in the news. Dana White, his favorite moment in UFC history was watching a fighter he feuded with get knocked out. Oh, yeah. I mean, that's gotta you know, there's a Hollywood version of it where this chick's a diva and she's a b***h and she screwed you over and then you see her, you know, and lose the Academy Awards. But you don't see her get knocked out. You'd love to see her get knocked out, you know? Yeah. I mean, it's a strange thing though because but Dana, notoriously not a fighter and, just the boss of everybody. Not a fighter. Not a fighter. Never was. Like, did not fight at all. Never cut weight. Never made weight. Never Didn't he have some history in boxing? Coached a bit. Yeah. He coached. Coached a bit. Notoriously, like, did not fight at all. That was the weird thing. So Freddie Roach fought a fair bit. Yeah. And now we know he did. He fought a fair bit. You know? But Freddie Roach was a, like, blood and guts fighter back in the day. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, he I don't think Freddie Roach was a top five guy, but he fought a lot. And he could say he fought a lot. So, Dana didn't, but he was a trainer in the boxing world. Yeah. The backstory that I don't know. It came up in an interview, I guess. Then back in the day when Dana, who had previously managed Tito, had a foul falling out with them after Ortiz. Yeah. Tito Ortiz. And his big deal was, this story comes to he was so happy when Chuck Liddell, who he also managed. Mhmm. So in that era of the, initial Zofa The ice man. Taking over. Yeah. The Iceman knocking out Tito Ortiz. He said that's his, happiest memory. I don't think Tito would have fared well in today's UFC. I never I like Tito. Tito was, like, of the era of Yeah. The first initial wrestlers becoming dominant and avoiding jujitsu and, learning how to kickbox just well enough Mhmm. To get into wrestling. Yeah. That was I like Kito. And I I did not see his skill set being, like, very advanced. Well, I I will say this. Like, I was part of that era. I I was really young when he was the champion. He brought me out to California. Uh-huh. And he he told me to come out. What I saw was the, like, we kind of revolutionized training. All the training before our era of, like, the team punishment, me, Rampage Jackson, t d Ortiz, Rico Rodriguez was in there, Tiki, Rob McCullough. There was a lot of guys down there. We, like, basically had to invent the training methods Mhmm. Because we didn't quite have the equipment that we have today. We had, like, Muay Thai pads, like Mhmm. And, like, shin guards and Mhmm. You know, sometimes you'll have some elbow pads. Mhmm. But now it's down to a science. Everybody has, like, really high-tech equipment. Mhmm. But we had to, like, learn how to fight with the small gloves without knocking each other out, which was an issue. Uh-huh. Right. Because we didn't have, like, big small gloves. We just had the fight gloves. Mhmm. And so you had to, like, work it out. And, Tito's skill set was, like, very heavy wrestling, but he was also a student of the game and was really, like, learning and, like, adapting different doing jujitsu. Mhmm. So that era yeah. You're right about that. Like, today's, landscape, of course. They're they're too too good at everything. I watched, a replay. This evening, we got the fight with what's his name with the giant, handle broom handle on the back of his head. Is that, who's fighting tonight? The guy with a crazy ponytail. No. No. No. That's that's next week. That's a Oh, that's next week. Next, US UFC 311. That one's crazy too. I watched Jeff. Guy fight Reyes, I think. Light heavy fight, 205. I think it was during COVID or something. They did a re I just saw it on TV, and he knocked him out with a spinning elbow. Yeah. And he was out before he got to the canvas, and it's like, oh, yeah. That's some tricky s**t. Like, that he didn't see a lot of of that. Prachenko or Zanker or whatever. It's Dominic Reyes. I mean, it's it's kind of a you know, it was a tough fight, but you you saw Yuri or Jerry. So many tools in the toolbox. You know what I mean? You don't know what what are you defending when you're standing in against the cage and the guys lean up against you, and he just threw an elbow. And now it's a spinning elbow, and you don't see it. See what's happening. Yeah. Back in the day, it was, here are the rules, and now we're getting into the era of here's how to break the rules. So you're seeing a lot of spinning techniques. You're seeing a lot of, I don't know, more stylish things come in. Things that are in movies. The 80s are in movies. From Haska. From Haska. Yeah. Anyway, that I was just going, wow. It's a lot of stuff to look out for here. Yeah. He's he's fighting the next he's fighting on the next card, 311. On this card, it's kind of a barn burner of a card because alright. You have this guy, Pantoja, Alexandre Potoja. He's a Brazilian guy, real the champion of this is flyweights. Now flyweights in general don't knock each other out that well, but both these guys are, like, knockout artists. Mhmm. He's fighting Kai Asakura. We got some highlights. I think this this, fighter from Rizin, Japanese guy, he does the wildest like, something from karate, some weird style that you don't quite see here in America. Me, I don't know where. Me out of nowhere. Yeah. He reads he really reads the body language of his opponents, and it's like a sniper. Yeah. Oh, knee to the body. Knee to the body and put the guy up. Yeah. Yeah. This guy's very interesting. Yeah. And now, of course, the champion is the, favorite in this fight, but not a huge favorite minus 240. Mhmm. It's, you know, it's one of those fights where both guys come with heat. Mhmm. And so, you know and their flight weights, so they have the gas to go all 5 rounds. So it's one of those things where you're gonna get your money's worth on the card. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's all action. Yeah. Yeah. Straight. Yeah. He he comes straight down the pipe with knees a lot and Mhmm. Follows it up with hands. Yep. Hard to, wow. These are body shots. Yes. Hands to the body, knees to the body. Yeah. You know, the thing about well, Jon Jones taught us a couple of weeks ago, the body nobody wants to the body's boring. It's kinda like skipping rope. People are like, I don't wanna learn to do it. I'm too I'm tired. I wanna hit the heavy back pain. Dividends. The the body works. First off, it finds its target. You're not you don't miss when you throw to the body. That's true. And and you take a guy's liver, lungs, ribs, he's going down just as sure as you hit him in the face. You know what I mean? He's not going anywhere. I mean, Jon Jones with a spinning body kick, that's it. That's all you need. Yep. And and and guys don't go to the body enough. It also sets up the hands and upstairs too. It's a discipline. Mhmm. But it works. I mean, the knee to the body, the hands of the body, which is why that's all this guy does is throw. Yeah. But when you try to land the knee to the head, it's great, but you miss. Yeah. But you land the knee to the body Yeah. You land. It it's hard to miss the knee to the body. It's one of those things hard to hold pads for a knee to the body. Like, you have to, like, you know, angle 1 pad at the guy and one pad down so you don't catch 1 in the balls. Well, you need the football over the forearm sort of half crescent, you know, blocking pad thing. Yeah. Mhmm. Hey. I'm Adam Kroll. That's Brad Williams and Jade Leno. Hey, buddy. I mean, that fight somehow is not really getting as much heat as the next fight, which is Shavkat Rachmanov, versus Ian Machado Gary. And I think you might remember that name, the Irish fighter, who is, you know, sort of a big Conor McGregor a little bit, like, fights in a similar style, hopping around, kinda sidekicking it. What weight class? 185? Yeah. No. This is welterweight. So 170. Oh, 170. And, yeah, this, the big heat about this is that, Ian Gary, he got tapped out by Rachmanov in training. So everybody's talking about, oh, well, then Rachmanov's gonna tap you out in the and Rachmanov's one of those guys Training feeded. A while ago. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. They're both, like my dad used to say, someone's owe Yep. Has to go. Yep. Yep. Yeah? Yeah. Definitely. Yeah. Because we we got I'm reading here. We got 15 and o. And is that 16 and o? Or is that 18? Oh, 18 and o and 15 o. That's, I will say this in the the UFC world. You rarely see 2 o's getting into the ring unless it's 2 guys' first fight. You know? You know what I mean? You don't see a combined 33 wins and 0 losses coming into the octagon because it's there's too many ways to lose. And as I've said repeatedly, you know, if you box and you're 18 and 6, you're tomato can. Yeah. But if you do UFC and you're 18 and 16, you'd be hall of fame. Yeah. Yeah. Right. So or or ranked for sure. Mhmm. So 18 and o and 15 and o, that is I don't even know when the last time 2 guys with o's in the loss department showed up with over 15 fights each. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Rare occurrence. Right? Yeah. You're absolutely right. Yeah. I I think that, some of these these guys got the benefit of fighting in their hometowns a lot before their UFC careers. So they, you know, they do have that sort of like a boxer or pad is record. Both guys there. Pretty would be pretty tough starting off in the UFC and taking on whoever they put in front of you. So yeah. But even so Mhmm. Still pretty impressive. Yeah. Definitely. And and Rachmanov is a heavy favorite in this fight. He is, like, you know, the son of the son of the son of Genghis Khan, because this guy is really, like, go forward. No. No, you know. I just wrestling, strong wrestling just batters people, like, batters guys and is outworks them Mhmm. And has one of those. And me and Gary is I don't know. He like I said, he has, like, this big Connor McGregor kind of vibe where he does sidekicks and just moves away away and, apparently, has very good grappling, but we don't get to see it that much. He is, a bit taller, but has given up, like, 3 inches in reach almost. Yeah. So it it's, it's an interesting fight and should be exciting, especially since the whole backstory with the guy tapped in training one time. Was, yeah, probably not sure anyone could be tapped in training at, one time or another. Is this the prelim? Not the prelim, but I don't know if they call it the commaine. I'm not sure, actually, because it doesn't say on the paper, commaine. But Oh, it's it's commaine on there. Okay. Good. Because, yeah, we're definitely been treating it like it's Cobain because it's a it's an exciting, interesting fight. And the heavyweight action, Cyril Gane is, fighting, Alexander Volkov. Volkov is, like, ranked number 3. I'm pretty sure gang is number 2. You can check on that, but I I'm pretty sure. And, you know, this is like like we talked about before, like, everybody else except Jon Jones. You know? The these guys and they're both good. These, big heavyweights, it should be an explosive fight. Exciting. I don't know if, Gain has learned how to grapple at all. I don't know if that will come into play. Volkov is a hard hitter. You know, big guy, one of those, you know, like, Russian kickboxer types. So he has got that European style of kickboxing. Mhmm. So both guys are that type of kickboxer. Let let's see. I I saw the Cyril thing, the prelim warmed up, you know, into the fight retrospective, whatever. He just he just said he got in with Jon Jones, and he was, not right walking into the ring. It's not like he had the flu or anything. He's just like, I I was so up in my head. I just I didn't even feel like I didn't know where he was. You know? Around the guy where there's, you know, an air of you're gonna lose. Yeah. Yeah. He got up and he I think he got up in his head and just completely banned and whatever and just got choked out. But also, I don't you know, to be honest, though, I don't know if he has the skill set. You know, when you spec into kickboxing, you're you're a heavyweight and you focus so much on one skill, it's really hard to pick up grappling out of nowhere. Mhmm. You know? And Yeah. Jon Jones just is the complete package, knows how to do everything and just, lull them into lull them into the back position. It was one of the I it had to be the worst heavyweight main card Yeah. At lot event in pay per view history. It was it was, you know, 51 seconds. And I don't even know if a punch was thrown. It was just a walking across the ring. Him down. It was like a bouncer, taking a drunk patron out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But even so, Cyril is the favorite. Coming in minus 355. Says he's right. Number 2, and Volkov is number 3. So they didn't get much closer than that. And he's favorite. Yeah. He's favorite. So let's see. That that should be a banger just because neither guy really tends to wrestle. So you're gonna have the opposite effect of what you were just talking about. Neither guy tends to wrestle. And if I was gonna pick somebody to wrestle, I would think Volkov would trip this guy down. Mhmm. I don't know. Bryce Mitchell's on the card too against Crown Gracie. They Gracie. Yeah. They pulled, Gracie out of the dustbin in history, and he's on the card against Bryce Mitchell, who is not just the heavy favorite, but, like, damn near a 1,000 to 1 favorite. Really? Yeah. And coming in Against the Gracie? Yes. Well, Gracie's older and, you know, it's one of those fights where Bryce Mitchell is really, kinda at the peak of his power here at 145, and, you know, he's like, he's mastered. He's 30 years old. He is, you know, one of those guys just gives the onslaught the whole time, and and, you know, he's not old enough where the injuries are really catching up with them, but he's old enough to have been, you know, a veteran. Mhmm. So and Kron is kinda on the tail end of his career, 1 45 pounder that I don't know. I I don't know if he could do much against him, and the odds makers are with me on that, but he's at plus 650. That is, that is an underdog to say the least. Yeah. Alright. Any other fights? Yeah. There's a whole undercard in there. Nate Landwer. And next next week, man I mean, next the next card, we'll talk about next week because it's, like, deep. Yeah. Yeah. Where is it? Where are they finding this? Oh, this is at T Mobile Arena. They're gonna be, yeah, here in Las Vegas. It's it should be I don't know. It should like I said, the Pantosha fight. I don't know if this guy is gonna get any respect ever because the fans just don't like him or something. Mhmm. I don't know why. I don't know if he's just not good at talking, giving a nice interview or what. But, he is an exciting fighter, to say the least. Alright, Mayhem. You've done it again, my friend. Yeah.
