Happy New Year to all my male listeners, I love you guys so, so much, and I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy twenty twenty three. I want to say to everyone that this is your year, so go out there and get it. I truly believe in like New Year New Beginnings. I am not one to make a New Year's resolution. I never was. And I feel like just being in the public eye. Everyone is always asked me on carpets like, What is your New Year's resolution? And I never have one because I believe in consistency. I believe in goals. I don't just pick one thing that's really hard for me to like 09. Overall, I like to try to keep whatever makes me happy. I want to search for more of and I want to do more of. So that's really my goal for 2020 three is to figure out what really makes me smile. What really makes me happy and keep leaning into that direction? I spent New Year's Eve in Aruba with my family and my cousins. I had the absolute best time. My kids love it. It's the only time I see everybody honestly, like, put down their cell phones, really spend time together. I take the extensions out of my hair. I swim in the saltwater. I really just needed that week off. It's literally one of the best things for me, so I hope you guys all had a wonderful New Year's Eve, too. And I love you all so much. Let's get 2023. OK, let's get it. Let's feel good about it. And that's it. With that said, I hope everyone is recovering well from their New Year's Eve, and I am very excited to bring you a very, very special episode with some of my best interviews looking back on 2022. Here we go. You know her as the brave house host of the second season of the Ultimate Girls Trip, and she is such a blast to catch up with. I just loved her and Dorinda, and I chatted about our experiences in reality TV and what we've learned from it. What advice we would share with other people that are in similar positions. How grateful we are to have this platform and also have these fans that are so supportive. If you're looking for a clip or two girls are just being real about their experiences on reality TV. This is it, guys, and because she's so proper. I feel like I should give a proper introduction with this clip. So, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Mr. Renda Medley. You were you were one of the ladies that came in and just owned it from day one. It wasn't like you were a newbie, ever. You were never a newbie. Just remember, I knew all those girls for so long and I'd been, you know, on in the background. And we've known it's kind of like, that's why Jersey works, because we really knew each other. So there's been so many times when I've been off camera with the girls and I'm thinking, God, this would just make a great scene because I think it's so important, as with your show, and I think that's why it does so well is that it's authentic. You know, you can see these girls living like that and you can see them through changes. And it's not all about the hair and makeup. It's about lice, right? Right. And I would say, when you're a good reality star, you know you have to be ready for the good, the bad, the happy, the sad and let people cycle through it and see that you're human. I do love for a lot of these women that get on the show now. They so worry about their image and worry about what are people going to say? Who gives a s**t? Let people cycle through it, let people love you, have let people hate you. And that's what we learn from women like us because we are not. We're perfectly imperfect. Amen, sister, you couldn't have said it better. And that's the truth. You know what? You. That is the advice I would love to give to any newbie starting off on our show or just on all these franchises in general. Because what you just said really like pins it. It's like they're going to love you. They're going to hate you. They're going to remember whatever you did last night, what you did good to like four months ago, and it is what it is. And just I heard someone said to me, What what do you think about when the good people and so on? So someone said something bad about you? I might listen. I didn't know the girl before. I'm not going to know. Ask whether this is not a popularity contest for me. This is sort of an an opportunity for you to see me as a multi multi-functional multi level woman that has all sides because that's what we are. And to tell you the truth, I always say this. I will say it again. I think the women they go on housewives, they do it authentically are very brave because it is much harder to show all sides of you that it is to show one side of the one side of you is easy, right? And that's like, unfortunately, if you look at history of women and stuff, the women in the sixties, fifties, sixties that only showed one side of themselves ended up with major depression, didn't have careers, ended up being very unhappy and a lot of times in marriages that did work in situations that didn't work for them. We are women. We have many different layers and a successful woman. A woman that needs to stand forward and a woman that needs to the speaker place in peace is really the woman you want to know, and that's the woman that sometimes can be a little difficult and maybe not understand her 100 percent. But that's okay, too. One hundred percent. And I feel like when they come on and just try to show you that good side, everyone sees right through it when you're fake, when you're not being you, when you're not authentic. Everyone sees right through it. And I will say, you are definitely one of the real ones when it comes to real life showing your real life what you have shown on the show, what we know about you. You know, with a lot of these women, we don't really know what their relationships were, right? We don't know what their marriages are. We still don't know what they are. And we've known half of them for eight to 10 years and it's still a fake thing. And I think people can people can really win out who's real on this show and who is not. Well, the same. You have to we have to talk about to the fact that it's a real incredible gift and burden when you put on these shows because you have to keep balancing. Obviously, we are naturally all protective just as humans, but also to. We have children and we have family and what you want to just be able to have people learn from you and expose yourself just enough. I hate when people say, Well, you know you didn't when people faltered or people that are going through terrible times with everything or, you know, it's not our job just to show absolutely everything, but it's our job to teach people about going through different situations. Right? That's 100 percent facts. And you would think that's why reality stars, you know, we can be in a room sometimes. And I know you've experienced this when you know the people, there could be major celebs and I know you roll with some big people to you, go to great events. You you're you're all over New York City and you get invited to beautiful events. You really do, right? And I do as well. There can be a list and I'm talking a. I know where you're going with this. Go ahead. They want to know. They want to say hello to us because they know us personally. They want to say, Well, you know, I know our children personally. I was having a conversation about that. What is that? I was really thinking about it the other day, and I got to tell you what's interesting. There was there sort of was like the soap opera stars, which became very big in our parents and grandparents. Like we we thought we knew about. There's like we fell in love when people got married. We were heartbroken when people died and attended the funerals on on the menu. But then you have these people called movie stars who played a role and and they were able to leave the role. And you didn't really feel like you knew the person, you just knew the role they were playing. The thing about when people see us, they have in their minds, these children, our homes, our bedrooms, our kitchen, the way we eat, the way we cry, the way we scream. We cycle through. So all of a sudden there's no proscenium wall and they really have access to us, which I find and I don't know about you. But I felt that the MTV Awards, we walked down that red carpet and we forget because remember, folks, we only filmed four months a year and then we really do go back into our old lives, right? We do. So when I got to the MTV Awards and I don't know if you felt this way, but went to see people just so happy to see you in, like, really like, Oh my god, you made it nice. How's am I doing you like? Yeah, it's really such a gift. That is the gift. It really is. I just got the chills with you saying that because it's the truth. And I am grateful and I know you are too. It's something that we're grateful for because we truly were wives and moms and housewives and just, you know, people just business women trying to make it out there. And this is really is a gift. And it's such a platform. And I think that people like you and I are very smart. We know how to use it and we appreciate it. Right? Absolutely. And I just, you know, you have to understand there's a beginning, a middle to end of it. And while you're doing it, if I give anybody advice that's involved in a situation that you get involved in, like this is just to make sure you keep growing yourself, you know, within and outside of it. This guy was one of my favorites, you probably saw him all over your televisions this holiday season with his very own Christmas special. Do you know it's Christmas, which is an absolute hit? Well, not only is Mr. Matt Rogers a jack of all trades when it comes to singing, dancing and acting, he's also a huge Housewives fan. Matt gave us some great insight as to why the Housewives shows are such a hit with the gay communities. And he did his very own exclusive. I don't think so, honey. Segment four on display. It is completely hilarious. Check it out and Fire Island. It was a huge phenomenon, obviously in the gay community. It's funny because I feel like so is housewives, right? Like that? Why is that Bravo is like such so huge in the gay community? Will you tell me? Honestly, I think it's because, like, we just love like I know what I've gravitated towards since I was younger. It was just like the strong women in my life. Like, honestly, it because I think that like as queer people, we really want to find a way to express ourselves. But there's really when I was growing up anyway, there was no one to look up to in my life that was like gay, like confident, strong, you know, but also had the same interests as me. Like, I didn't see that behavior modeled. And so like in terms of what my interests are, it's really just watching people against all odds, like make stuff happen for themselves. And I also think, especially with Housewives, when you're growing up and you're not really comfortable with yourself, not comfortable voicing your opinion. I'm personally inspired by people who really say what they think, and they're willing to get into conflict about it because actually, and this has been true pretty much my entire life. Conflict actually like breeds resolution, which actually makes everyone better. Most of the time, I'm not going to say that the gays don't love mess, and that's not why they love Housewife. Clearly, that's true, too. But what I like about it is when I watch a season of Housewives and I've like absorbed it, I actually think I get better at knowing how to express myself because of either watching a housewife where I'm like, Well, I would never say it like that, which happens with some of the people on your cast. And then other people where I'm like, I see myself in that, you know what I mean? Like, I understand this. And so it's almost just like watching like a social chess game in a way with also like, you know, cool locations and fashions and mess. So it's I love that you're basically saying you love women who speak their minds and are not an approach and also approach fixing things at the same time, right? Yeah. And like I said, I'm from Long Island, so watching Jersey was like a real one to one year, the same, by the way, Long Island and New Jersey. I it really is so similar. Very, very similar. I won't be York in New Jersey, but Long Island and absolutely so similar. Like any time I do anything out on Long Island, they are like, they come out. I mean, they are the best. One of my favorite things that you do on your podcast is called I don't think so, honey. Right? And basically, it's where you are both, and you just rant about something for 60 seconds straight. Yep, we do a 60 second rant on something in pop culture that's just like we need to rip all the way apart. Like I was like, Sometimes you have like, you've just had it with something. And so you get 60 seconds on the clock and you say, I don't think so, honey, this thing. And you drag it. OK, I want to play with you right now. Let's say I get to ask you, you're going to answer for 60 seconds. I'm going to put the clock on perfect and then I have the clock to. If you want to do one, I want you. I want to hear Melissa Gorga is. I don't think so, honey. My God, I don't know if I can do that. Well, listen to me first and then let's see if let's see if it feels like I give you some courage. OK, OK, OK, OK, so do I have to say I don't believe you don't. You have to say so you. What you say to me is Matt Rogers. I don't think so. Honey time starts now and then hit the button and I'm going to go. OK. Ready. Yeah. Matt Rogers, well, I can't stop my phone. It's amazing. Hold on. Am I talking to Bowen Yang or what am I doing this right? OK, doing it? Matt Rogers, I don't think so, honey. Give me all the drama on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Go. I don't think so. Honey, Diana flop. This was not the first season that we needed from you, and you came in promising all of that. You came in so hot and you were like, Yeah, I know Elton John actually on the board of that party, and then I was going to expect something from you. I don't think so, honey, because though all I got from you was like, Asher's Ep. 50 seconds If I have to see Aster's thing one more song sprouting at the top of his lungs, I don't think so. Honey, what is going on, Diana? Seriously. Also, not for nothing, but it's giving mafia energy. That's what I'll say about that. All Diana. I don't think so. Hunting Season two for you, because while you did do a couple of iconic things such as So you say, I did love that, didn't that lunch that you have a sudden where you were like, So you say, but I don't, I don't think so. Five Second, Anna, because ultimately it's giving sort of a dark evil energy. And when you said that Sun actually is this the unseen, I was done at that point. You're aligning with Rinna and Erika Mumma. This is the darkness. I don't think so. Honey Diana, sorry about it. Bring back Kim Richards all time. Oh s**t, I that was. I could. First of all, I cannot do that. First of all, you had amazing talking that was just so good and spicy and shady. I love it. You got to give what the girls came for, and I've been doing too many. I don't think someone is now. I think I've done like almost 300 feet, over 350 of them in the years we've done the podcast. So if I'm any good at it, it's just because practice that was that was like Riddick. I was like, Oh my God, I don't want to interrupt him to tell him how many seconds he has left because I don't want to ruin his train of thought. It might be no good. So yes, you did it perfectly. What I do is I do 30 seconds and then 15 seconds left and then I say five, and then it's over. But you were. You intuited it perfectly well. You know, I'm a newbie here. I'm just trying it out, you know? No, you killed it. You crashed. I will say, Oh my God, you mentioned the box. I didn't even mention like the garcelle of it all, which is really where she gets tough for me because you notice she always picks on Garcelle in a way where it's like, Girl, why? Unless it's something dark. What's the first thing you do when you wake up? Is it checking up on your credit score? I mean, I don't think so at Chime. OK, guys, the Apple Martini King himself, Mr. Frank, can you join me for such a fun interview? And Joe even pops in a little bit for the grilled with Gheorghe, a segment that you do not want to miss. Guys, he opens up about his regrets and how he treated Delores during their marriage, his hard realization about stepping up to be a parent. And he showed us his surprisingly sensitive side, especially when it comes to pets. You're going to love these clips right here. You want to come say, Hi. We're going to pull Joe in for a minute. How you doing, my wife? Oh yeah. Are you nervous? Why does he have no sure? Why not? He took a shower, and he's like, walking around like this. I'm not in the office today at all. You know, anybody else really surprised. But that doesn't surprise me at all. All right. Do you believe this guy just walking around with no shirt on? I got to show you the real guy. I'm used to it. I'm used to it. You know? He propositioned. Yeah. Yeah. I walked by. I walked by and I was here. And if Britney ever wanted a kid and you ever needed help your buddy, I help you. I'll give you some. All right, you guys. That would be like that would be your child then. Now that's friends. I know this guy 30 some years. I like going. I tell you two things. All right, but I don't want to be the guy who takes away one of your three sperms. OK. There's only three. One more is coming. And you know the other time. All right. Listen. All right. I want my child's be able to leave hospital. All right. All right. But listen, I don't want you to lose your 25 year old girlfriend. I help you out. I don't want you to call me up or pregnant. Leave a bar. Well, I got the two best house husbands in the room right now. I'm so excited on this. You got me. This is pretty exciting. And I will vouch to say that the two of you together are hysterical and you, like, feed off each other. Great. You guys just have like a real honest. You have like a true friendship, which is a lot different from just meeting someone from this show. You guys have a real, honest friendship. Ed and I say all the time, guys, is what you mean. The guys you see as there is nothing scripted about us. There is nothing scripted, right? Believe me, don't work and think something's f**king stupid things on his own right without production whatsoever. All right. Yeah, all the time. Absolutely. But you know what's great about us, and I'm going to just ended on this note that we are just the same people. We don't care. We don't offend each other. You have a big heart of gold. I do. Where you're genuine, have all the business we have done over the years. We've never had an argument ever right. I mean, we've respected one another. So we are the same type of person. You know, a lot of people say you can't go into business with friends or family bulls**t. Yes, you can. As long as you do the right thing, you can correct. You can always do, you know, as long as you got to be careful of jealousy. Jealousy. I love to surround with people by cell for people who who are happy for good because that that makes you happy. Right, right. That's exactly right. So it is what it's Oh my god, it is a little awkward. Now I'm feeling a little sorry. All right. Let's talk about a martini needs. And I thought about that. The ballgame. All right. Hey, we just got two guys coming up. Yeah. First game is Sunday, right? Saturday. Yeah, yeah. I'll be there. You guys are going, Yeah, hell, you can wait there. It's a little bit already. All of the shore vacation, everything screwed down the shore. Once you have a child that plays football in high school, everything's everything's over. Yes, for sure. We might as well come on the way here. Ryan, come on. OK, you ready? I don't know. OK, grilled with Gorga. Here we go. Who was because this is just to learn a little bit more about you, frank, as if we don't know enough. All right. Who was your first celebrity crush? Oh, I know. I know. I know. Who's that guy? Let him answer. Dr. Ron Jeremy Ronson at the porn star guy. Right? Right Before you. Prince of Victoria Principal Who? Victoria Principal. OK. Oh my God, you don't even know who that is, Joe. I have no idea. I don't know. That's really me. As she was like, This is where Britney would not know what the hell you were talking about. Not at all. I think she was what from dynasty or something like that, which is here something that dynasty? Right? Dallas, Dallas. She was on Dallas. Yes, there you go. My God, you're right now. Oh my God. So funny. OK, your favorite 80s song? I love AC DC. Hell's Bells. Really? You're like a rocker. Yeah, I'm a rocker, but I'm also freestyle. I love country. I love everything I really do. Depending on who's saying anything for me right now, is that what you want to keep your followers? You don't want to go any free frank singing as a soundbite desperately. Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know, what's your biggest regret in life? Honestly, like your biggest regret that you think about sometimes? Number one, I I had millions that I spent there. OK. All right. If I. And financial aid, but my biggest regret in life is my situation with the laws and how I heard the laws OK. I would hate to do that again, but it's hard to continue to regret it when look, what happened? All right. We're great friends and I got two beautiful kids, right? Well said. Well said. How about this? How about this? What was your best decision you made in life? Well, the and become becoming friends with me, right? Close, close gap between that and get a root ca**l. I don't know which ones are horrible, right? Right? Jeez. Come on. Best decision or best decision life. Oh my God. The best decision with my help, Yarbrough. Now he doesn't need your help. Quite honestly, there was a point in time where I was just a little reckless and reckless and abandoned, where I say, you're only going to have this opportunity once and I tried to be a good father. All right. That's where I went from living a life of a wild man, which only my kids didn't come around. I probably dead by now. All right. What else is more important to be a father? Did enjoy yourself? Oh, definitely. That's a good man. I guess that is the best decision you've ever made then. Absolutely. To be a dad. To be a father. To act like one. All right. It's easy to be one to act like, right? Oh my god. In fact, that probably is resonating with a lot of men right now that are like me and I thank the Lord. I thank the Lord because it didn't have to be this way. And the worse, despite our divorce, we were always a family. We were never, not a family, you know, right? Delores will say many times she divorced me in order to keep our family together. This one is so great, I feel like oftentimes the reality lions can paint us in a way that we completely didn't expect. And this girl has definitely dealt with that is dollars worth of dimes herself. Kenya Moore Kenya opens up so much about why she comes across as a villain on The Real Housewives of Atlanta versus who she really is in the ultimate girls trip with me, and how the Ultimate Girls Trip is a lot like Miss Universe. And also how she surrounds herself with beautiful women, but she is never intimidated by them. Talking about like the Ultimate Girls Trip, it's kind of crazy because I feel like you get pinned on The Real Housewives of Atlanta as kind of like the villain. A lot of times, but like that and I know a villain when I see one, I do. I know an a*****e when I see one, you know, as s**t stuff. But to me, like, listen, you didn't let Ramona say boo. Like, if she if you didn't, but but you were pretty reasonable about anything, you got annoyed. I don't get why. Why were you? So why do you come off different on Atlanta than you do like to me in person and on that girls trip? Well, I just think, you know, from the moment, like I stepped foot on Real Housewives of Atlanta season five, I think I didn't know what to expect. And I remember getting into it with, like a fan favorite who's no longer on the show. And that relationship, once that relationship turned, I was just like, for me, I was just constantly defending myself, like I was defending myself. I was having fun, and when I was drinking, then it was like, Oh, you're flirting with someone's husband. Like, You know, we got in the pool and it was like, we jumped in. But I mean, like, everyone was there. I wasn't trying to flirt with anyone, but it just it just kept being edited. It like I was going after this one and that one. And so of course, you'll get the villain out if you're if you're a newcomer, it's easy for that, you know, and for me, I. And you're gorgeous and just walking around all like twirling and fabulous with these eyes and like, you just came out of a supermodel magazine shoot. And you know, I you know what? I just feel like it was the company. Like, I think with you girls, it's almost like when I was in Miss USA vs. Miss Universe, when I was in Miss USA, everyone was like from Michigan and Ohio and Texas. Everyone wanted to be Miss USA, but in Miss Universe, we were already I was already Miss USA. Someone else was Miss India. Someone else was Miss Jamaica. Someone else was, you know, Miss Switzerland. We were already winners, you know, we were already at the top of our game. And that is kind of like what what the Ultimate Girls trip was. We were all Miss USA. But you know, you see the analogy. Yes, I never looked at it that way. But that's like clever difference between Miss Universe and Miss USA. Like once I got to miss universe, it was just cool like everybody was. So it was drastically different, Melissa, when I got to miss Universe. It was the coolest girls club ever. We were all queens. We were like, you know, we were part. We were all a part of history. They were all just girls beyond stunning. Like every, every one of would come through the door, 83 girls from all over the world and every last one of them had a crown and every last one of them were drop dead gorgeous. And I can vouch and say that you are not the type of girl that is intimidated by other pretty or hot women like you root for them. I mean, come on. My best friends are like Tyra Banks, Tracy Edmonds, who was, you know, used to be married to babyface. I mean, gorgeous, gorgeous. She's beautiful, accomplished. I mean, come on the eve of March. Still, Cynthia Bailey, like, girl, I love a gorgeous girl. Like, so I'm never intimidated by beauty. I celebrate beauty and all kinds of beauty, so a beautiful woman doesn't intimidate me. I never have like I know love pretty. I mean, I keep a dollar worth of dimes around me. I know you do. I feel that about you. When you walk in a room, you're there to compliment. You're there to say you look good. Like, I knew that about you as soon as I met you, and as soon as we spend time together on the girls trip, you're not a hater. You're not. You're simply not a hater. What beauty? Beauty. We're all different. You know what I mean? We're all different. I can find beauty and in any way I like it. Whether it's they're beautiful, wide set eyes or cheekbones or lips are legs or whatever. I mean, I just think the female form is just so amazing. And of course, if you couple that with someone like you, there's beautiful inside as well as, oh, like, it's just a winning combination. You know, I'm a girls girl. I like to support other beautiful women. So now it's never girl when people say, I'm jealous, so I'm like, Do you know who I'm friends with? Like, You know what I'm saying to you? The top the most beautiful women? You know what I mean? So don't please don't tell me I'm jealous of someone else's beauty because I love a beautiful girl. OK, guys, one of the biggest things I get asked about all the time is health, wellness and of course, my exercise as a mom of three. It gets more and more challenging all the time to keep my body in shape than it ever has before. So I had Jillian Michaels on this show to give me a tip or two on my daily routines, how to tweak them and trust me. You're going to hear something towards the end of this episode that will change your entire morning routine. Don't be jealous. Everyone, I have Jillian Michaels just telling me what to do out there in the gym, which I'm so excited about this. OK, so let me tell you what I do. OK, OK, I'm ready. And tell me if I'm right or wrong. So I'm not. I'm not a really I'm not a really heavy eater, but I do eat like so I eat on the weekends. So let me give you, for instance, like Monday, Tuesday, Monday through Thursday, OK, Monday through Thursday for me, a cup of coffee in the morning. That's just how I start my whole entire life. Do you put anything in it? We started curiosity. Yes. So this is where I ate the creamer, the French vanilla creamer that they say kills you. That's me. I put it in my coffee. So, OK, so the first thing I want you to do is switch that out. And this is going to sound kind of surprising, but you can use something like organic heavy whipping cream. And the reason people are going to it sounds totally counterintuitive because it is high in calories, Julian to use like a tablespoon of it. And the reason is because it'll give it that really nice creamy texture and creamy flavor. But it has no protein and it has no carbohydrates. So what it's allowing you to do is something called a dirty fast. So I'm sure I'm sure you're going to ask me about intermittent fasting or sure it'll come up. If you have that crappy creamer, you're blowing it over. It's done. So you can cheat that dirty, fast out with just that. That's why some people use mosquito or medium chain fatty acids coconut oil. I don't like the taste of it. That's why I go with organic heavy whipping cream because I just I think it tastes gross in my coffee, and that will allow you to cheat out a few more hours without triggering. I don't want to get too technical for you, but when you eat carbs or protein, it shuts down a process called autophagy. And that's exactly what you're fasting. It's basically where your body breaks down dead and senescent tissue. So this is a great thing. You can cheat it out, but fat only. And so I like organic, heavy whipped cream because it tastes better to me than other forms of fat. Not because it's the best form, just because it makes the coffee taste better. Now, does that have dairy in it? One of the reasons I use the French vanilla creamer is because they have no dairy. So what do I do? Dairy? I mean, blackberry intolerant. So again, why don't you do dairy because it bothers me, it bothers my stomach, I can feel it through my soul like I go for almond milk when I get it. So wait, hold on. OK, I'm not going to push you if it's like a spiritual thing like I because I like going to, but I'll eat cheese. So if you're so, if there's like much it allowed, I'm going to eat a piece of what's it all. But for some reason, like milk bothers me. Does that make sense? All right, OK. If it bothers you, then I would switch to the I would switch to like oil like like a medium chain fatty acid and or the. What about butter? Is butter bother, you know? Not as ideal, but like a grass fed butter or ghee, for example. That's organic clean. We have that crap that you're taking in the morning is just so is it crabs? Be honest, it's crap. Oh my god, read me the ingredients. Is it like the one with the artificial flavor or the artificial? Yes, artificial up the chain? No, I 100 percent. I see these chick talks about like, do not use these creamers and I every morning I'm like, Oh dude, I can't. No, I don't know what to replace it with. And I only do it once a day. I mean, is it that bad? Every time I look at food, I'm like, That can save your life. That can kill you. So I'm always going to try to find the swap that will go from killing you to saving your life. And if I can't get you to save your life, then I'm going to try to go somewhere in the middle like that cube of sugar over the splash of organic almond milk is I? I'm going to do it, that I'm going to make a promise to you, that I'm going to do because I have guilt about it when I do do it, because I know it's not the right thing. And now, if I'm having a personal session with Jillian Michaels, I'm going to listen to you. I am going to listen to what you're telling me today. OK, so we got past it and I and I've heard a lot that we need to get back to like understanding our relationships with food, right? Like, you need to understand there's there is a little bit of a relationship with me in that coffee in the morning. I have a relationship like I can't wait to get out of bed and grab my creamer. And if someone drank all my creamer and it's not there in the morning, I lose my s**t like my day starts off wrong. I am annoyed. I am aggravated. I'm like, Who would ever drink the last of the creamer at their nighttime coffee like that was very rude. I get so involved that I really do. I get pissed. Actually, you can see it all over my face. But anyway, moving. I do understand. I understand. I do an emotional thing I have with that cup of coffee in the morning and I'm not even like, it's just one time a day, really. Maybe sometimes I'll grab a Starbucks, but moving on, hold on for dinner. Oh, that is your coffee organic? I like to ask, you know? This stuff you have to be. I don't know, I like folders, my folders. Oh, my God. Anyway, I just need to tell my listeners, if you guys can see her facial expressions and how she's reacting to everything I'm saying, it is, like I said, the worst thing she's ever heard in her life. Girl, she's holding her head, guys. She is literally holding her. I got to play drinking too much. Adding Like a shot of poison. I know it. All right. First of all, we know Folgers. No one. No one organic. OK, first of all, organic coffee. Then we can get into gourmet coffee. Coffee is one of the heavily sprayed crops in the world. I think it's second only to cotton, so it's got that much crap and poison on it. Conversely, if you switch to organic coffee, you're getting all kinds of awesome is antioxidants, polyphenols. And if you switch it to cold brew, you're getting less of the tannins and the acids and the. It does have its long story short, it can strip out some of the some of the oils that aren't as good for you. So cold brew would be ideal, right? You can make it cold brew and heated up. If you want to skip that and just tell me to go f**k myself on that one, I'm I'm going to get organic coffee organic. No, no, I'm going to do it. I'm going to get organic coffee. I'm going to get the little cube, the little brown cube for better, whatever I said 14 grams of sugar. Yeah, that's 14 calories worth of sugar. 14 grams of sugar know it's causing calories of sugar. OK, so see listeners, I obviously don't know what I'm doing, so don't ask me how I stay in shape. I don't know. All right, guys, you know her from the Lady Gang podcast. It's so popular, and after our chat, she and I really bonded over being modern moms, especially today. Becca Tobin got real about her experiences and challenges, being a new mom and struggling with mom guilt. I shared some advice with her based on my own experience and the importance of embracing your career or whatever it is that you're passionate about that will make you feel like a whole person. Then we have some real talk about stumbling through womanhood, and I share a real life example of this struggle that involves some two tight jeans shorts. Oh my god, guys, so embarrassing. Wait till you hear this. Yes, these types of things do happen on air. Give this one a lesson. How are you doing? Being a new mom, you're working, you're you're busy, girl, so is it crazy? Do you have like that mom guilt going on or what's the deal? Yeah, the mom guilt has started and I thought also I would be exempt from those feelings because I just was like, You know what? I'm older and I'm and I logically know that I shouldn't feel these feelings and I'm going to go into this. It's going to be so different. It's not. I still feel sad when I miss bedtime, and I still feel sad when you know just the career. I'm so grateful for my career and I've always been really driven and this is the thing I wanted more than a family really was to be successful and to do it on my own. And like, I'm really happy and I feel greedy having both and feeling amazing about them. So I still have moments where it's like you choose. You make a choice between the two, and there's no such thing as balance. And I knew this because so many women that I know who have both have said, don't even attempt it, it's just you're going to disappoint yourself if you think that you can find this perfect equilibrium between the two. I just there's no one better to tell you that than me, to be honest, because I literally struggled with being an at home mom for the first five years with these little babies. And then I got on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and my little one was two months old. Antonio, my oldest was four years old. And so I just jumped right in and it was just boom, boom. So I went from like the mommy stay at home mom. Joe's at work comes home. Melissa has dinner with like cute kids that are nice and clean and bathed in their pajamas. So like, we need a sitter. I got places to go. I have to go to New York. I'm on watch what happens live tomorrow. I got to go and then mom guilt. I used to like cry. I used to sob because it was such a drastic change, you know? But I've learned, and I'm going to tell you this right now because you're, you know, you're new to this. Do not. You have to live for you two. And that'll make your child happy. Also, like you are allowed to be a mom and a businesswoman and everything and in love your career and love everything else that you're doing the same way your husband probably does. Right? Because the mom guilt is just, we're done with that. We don't want to talk like it's just not fair. We all have to be in this together. And it's like, Yes, we have a child, we're going to do the right thing. We're gonna be a great mom, but we're also going to take care of business and live for ourselves as well. And we cannot feel guilty for that. You know, and so there don't don't feel guilty. And I know it's one of the hardest, hardest things I struggled in the beginning, especially when they're like a little minor getting older now. But when they're babies, you're like, I don't want to miss days. What if they say, mama? What if they say, Dad, Dad, you know, it's like that question for you. And are you happier now that you have your career? Yes, like one hundred and I feel guilty. Don't feel guilty, I I see every day I'm like, I don't think I'd be this happy if I were staying home all day. Oh, you know what? You would feel resentment. Yes, you would look at your husband who gets like, either get up and do what he wants to do and bring home money and like. Mm hmm. And you'd be like, what? Hold on. All I did today was change 16 diapers. I burped the baby. Yeah, like, I love this child. This is important. But like, I have a lot more left inside of me that like I waited for him to wake up for his nap and and you literally like not all moms were not going to like category. Categorize this right? But most like, want more? And there's like resentment and there's got to be like an even playing field. And when I think about those five years that I was just a stay at home mom and I used to watch Joe walk out the door at seven a.m. and come back at seven p.m. and I still sometimes was in my loungewear or pajamas. Antonia was still with blocks all over the house and like, I was just like, He's like, How is your day? I'm like, I'm here. Like, It was great. I think I went to Shoprite. I begged my mother to come over so I can get my nails done. And then like, it was just if I think about it, I'm like, How did I like? I am so over that, and I don't think I could ever. I could never go back and like knowing what I know now. It was fine because I had that five years to be with them as babies, so I have no regrets. But like, I love the way it is right now, I love being able to have both and multi and new moms. You will find your groove. You really well, like it seems impossible at first. You're like, How am I going to do this? But just do it and it just falls into place just like, make it happen. We were just very candid, and I have this habit where I can't go to a dinner party, I can't do something social without saying something that's either like shocking or inappropriate or making somebody uncomfortable with how the filter is just doesn't really exist for me. Well, I love that. I love friends like you. Those are always the most fun to grow. You just can't do. I can't do like the small talk. We just do big talk. So it's if you're made uncomfortable by that, that's unfortunate. My husband and I have had so many conversations leaving like work dinners where he's like, Did you need to ask my colleague's wife if they tried any sex toys or like, if it's just it's just to me, I feel like when women are being really, really candid is when we connect to the most because we're all kind of the same. When you come down to it, we're all just trying to stumble through like this womanhood and all this bulls**t and be our best selves. And sometimes we disappoint ourselves and other people. But and we're really hard on ourselves. And so just coming together every week and talking about like the trials and tribulations of stumbling through this craziness of being a woman has been really uniting for a lot of women across the world. And so they've sort of found each other. Girls who listen to the podcast will get together in different cities with each other. They'll meet up to come to our live shows together, and it's just this really awesome community of women where we have no, there's just no bulls**t we get together. Good, bad, ugly, whatever stumbling through women like that I love. That's an awesome quote, to be honest, because it's so true. It's like there's so many things that we're always trying to figure out. And I can give you a fun fact. I guess it's just now right before I started talking to you as I was introducing you, I had a pair. I have a pair of jean shorts on. OK, they're so tight squeezing up against five story. Oh no, early leg. And I keep like, I'm still here and I'm like pulling them down and pulling them down. I'm like, I'm going to be so uncomfortable, like sitting like this. They're like up. Like, they're like, you know, when they're so tight and you can bring your vagina goes numb. Yeah, it's like, I'm going numb. So I'm like, they can't see me from the waist down. I just pulled my jean shorts off, and I'm sitting here in this T-shirt with a pair of underwear. I swear to God because I'm like, I'm going to get a yeast infection with this tightness. I have no you can't f**k around with. You need circulation down there for many reasons for comfort for your microbiome. I pulled my hair, OK, I just had to show you those so that you believe me because they were squeezing it so tight. I'm like, I'm so uncomfortable. I'm going to scream, I have underwear. It's like, I'm in my bathing suit shirt talking to you. It's fine. This is why we podcast. But if we're going to stumble through womanhood, then I womanhood that I need to come correct and tell you what I just did. Proud of you. Oh, God, guys, I love that listening to all that. What a great episode. I love taking a little trip down memory lane. It's so awesome. So shout out to all my listeners. I love you guys so much. You've been so supportive.
