I'm scared to be here right now. I am so excited. We're just kicking off spooky season. I mean, to be fair. Personally, to me, spooky season begins September 1st, September 1st. I will fight someone. Oh yeah. So one of my comments recently tried to say that it is spooky. Season doesn't start until October 22nd as an excuse me. It starts now. Yeah. And so we are just so excited. We were talking about all things spooky season, all things autumnal, because it's the best and we just love it so much. I'm going to get it started with a little joke. OK, I can't wait. You OK? I know you love it. You love a joke and a spooky one. Yeah. Why did the scarecrow win the Nobel Prize? OK, I don't know why. Because they were outstanding in their field. Ha ha ha ha. It was like a little bit of a joke, isn't it? It was outside Starbucks. I love that. And this season it is Pumpkin Spice Season. I am here today with my. My favorite thing is I have my cold brew or my iced coffee, but instead of vanilla cold foam, I'm doing pumpkin spice cold foam. So it's the best cold foam, honestly. It is, I feel. Hold on. Let me just I'll do it. Just try it. It looks like you really enjoy shows. I did really enjoy this. So welcome to spooky season. Happy to be here. Thank you. Me too. So I want to just kick off by talking about what we love so much. All the things we love about spooky season. You know, we love to fangirl on this podcast. So I got to tell Spooky Season Hour are our ghost guest in the corner why we're such a huge fan of them. Oh yeah. Are you taking it off you? I'm going to tell you. Let's talk about music, OK? There are different types of spooky season music that I love. Yeah, I'm a monster mash girl. OK, I stand that. Yeah, yeah. And then on top of that, I also just love like something like acoustic. Some like feels like something's like leaves could be rustling by, OK, I might need a cardigan. Yeah, like a cracking dialogue to a cracking fire law. Yes. Thriller thriller. Oh, we learned the dance that remember we did learn the dance to that. I mean, the dance to that is iconic. Yeah, I also love Kim purchases. Oh, spooky. Spooky head. Yeah, I love when I pop or any regular artist comes out with, like a spooky hit. Yeah, I haven't played any this this season yet. Not yet. We've got to get you got to start it and you gotta start. Muse just came out with a Halloween bar. I didn't know that. Yes. Wow. It's called like every day with you. Feels like Halloween or something. OK, it's just about how someone's awful in a relationship. And they made it sound spooky. I love that. Yeah, I got to hear it when we leave. Yes. I'll add it. It'll be on the The Playlist. Oh, what the playlist became of spooky hits on the playlist. We'll have to do an ultimate sub bass line. Ultimate spooky request line, for sure. Oh my gosh, yes. Well, let's talk movies. OK? I know we can get into that for like a while. Yeah, I mean, I know that that's what we're most passionate about. I love movies. This is not a plug for AMC. But, you know, as much as the would love to tell you to become an AMC A-list member. Oh yeah, that's like the most important thing. Yeah, my favorite scary movie is Scream. OK, I've made a top five. That's my number one. Oh, that's OK. Oh my god. Well, maybe we'll start with number one and then we'll go, OK. One two three four five. OK. Number one Favorite Scary Movie. Both of us agree. Scream. Scream. It has everything, yeah, it has great soundtrack, yeah, cast, an unbelievable cast, I'm believable. It's funny at times. Yeah, it's also very scary and I love that it's real. It's not ghost, right? What about you? Absolutely. Scream is iconic because of the character arches the stories behind each character and how they're brought together. And like the evolution of them evolving to find out why they're connected to is really cool. And I think that's something that the series has done to continue on as they build scream sex, you know, but every every season or season, we're not Typekit every, every movie. It's just about the characters and how something you could uncover you didn't know about before. Yeah, it's iconic. Also for me. Skeet Ulrich, I mean, I have an amazing ski origin story to tell some people. May I've told the story before, so some people may have heard this story before. If you have, just deal with it, I'm telling it again. While Skeet Ulrich scarred me as a young adult because scene scream was so impactful on my life, I from that point forward was, and honestly rightfully so was very convinced that any boyfriend I had could very well murder me. And honestly, that's a legit thing because it's always the husband. So thank you, skeet for instantly not fear in me of any person that I'm in a relationship with a healthy fear of murder. Yeah. And he was just so hot, though also. So it was like this weird. I don't know this weird feeling of like. He's hot and he's scary. And I don't like I didn't didn't know how to, like, wrap my head around both of those emotions. And so, you know, my life goes on. I still always I'm obsessed. Always been my favorite. And then one year we went to some NASCAR does a race in. I guess it's like Pomona, OK or whatever. Yeah. And yeah, and every year, because it's like the closest NASCAR race to Los Angeles. A lot of times like they'll invite a lot of people to come out and be in the like VIP. And and I don't know, we've been just lucky to be invited a handful of times, and it's really fun and it's really cool. If you ever get a chance to go to something like that and you can be in a I feel like if you're out in the stands, it is a really fun experience and like going and yeah, and having like the headphones on and it is really an interesting and cool experience and and people love it like people camp out there and stuff and it can be just like a really fun time. So we've been lucky to be able to go. And when we've gone, we've crossed paths with some really interesting people and they do this thing in the morning when they have like that. It's like all the drivers meet before the race, OK? And they have somebody that goes over rules and things like that, and they introduce all the drivers to. There's like some fans there and it's like some press there and stuff and they introduce like all the drivers and they say, like this, you know this, this is racing and yada yada. And then they'll also like, introduce some of the people who were there, like the VIP is that are there. And over the past few years, there's been some like really crazy people that we've been in that situation with, OK, that this one year, he already was one of those people because Riverdale was like, Oh yeah, you know, in its first few seasons and obviously is like, really popular. I think he was there and there's maybe one other person there from Riverdale, OK? And but of course, I am like, I get that you're on Riverdale now, but to me, you're you're Billy, you're Billy Loomis, like. And I was in his presence. I don't know how to explain the feeling that I had in my body. Like, I truly felt like I was going to climb out of my body like I was having, like a f**king like bodily physical experience, being in the room with him. And I just like, couldn't stop looking over. But at the same time, I didn't really want to look at him and I didn't. And like, at the same time, I'm like, Ariana, his name is Skeet. He's an actor. You know, he's like a real person. You're being f**king weird, OK? But like, so I was trying to play it cool while inside freaking the f**k out, of course. So then after that thing, knowing he's there, we go up into like the box where, you know, there's snacks and drinks in there. And there's like this big window where you can see down onto the track. Yeah, and everything that's happening and like on to like where the pit crew, the pit crew. Yeah. And. I'm up by the window, so I. Everyone else is behind me like the whole room, whoever is in the room. And he wasn't in the room then, so I just wasn't thinking about it. Part of me was like, You're kind of calm. I was kind of calm down at this point. And then all of a sudden, you know, when someone whispers in your ear, you also get that like, Hello. Yeah, I'd like that feeling, yeah, OK, imagine that feeling. But it's also Billy Loomis, his voice and it's all rage, and he was literally right up on me and was like, Hello, say it is boys which like, so iconic. Like, I can't even. Yeah. And I had like a Folake like. And then I also I saw him, and he's also hot as f**k. So it's like he's tall. Yeah, like literally all these mixed emotions like are happening at the same time, and I'm like, Oh my God, what the f**k? Like, I was fangirling to the point where I was like, Don't f**king embarrass yourself. Like, don't f**king say or do anything weird. I was just like, Oh my gosh, you know? So I try to say, just say something normal. And I was like, You, Oh my gosh, I'm obsessed. You have no idea what you just did. Like, literally, you just I will remember that for the rest of my life. And I am just like, how did you even? And I guess Tom Schwartz had said something to him and was the and they were chatting and he was like, You should go over like, sure, totally freaked out. So that's what happened. So. And it was incredible. I'll never forget it. And thank you, Tom Schwartz for making that happen because it was just wow, what a moment. It's iconic. You'll never forget it. I'll never forget it. Oh, never forget it. So that's my Skeet Ulrich story. That's a good story. I mean, I've met people from Scream, but nothing is close that well, why don't you meet people from Scream Scream four? I went to the premiere at the Chinese theater, and on the way out, Courteney Cox was standing there and my friend Randy and I were there and we were just like, Let's just go side. He said, Hi, super nice. Got a picture that I have like 10 double 10s, so it doesn't really resurface on social media, but it's a little memory. And yeah, yeah, it's always the worst picture to an awkward moment. Like, I took a picture with Skeet and I look like a little like bridge troll. It's like, why? Why does it happen? Everybody just like Inverts, you were like, Yeah, there's something happening internally that makes that happen. Yeah, yeah. But that franchise brought so many good people. Oh yeah. Parker Posey. Yeah, I loved that one. So good. I love Matthew Lillard. Oh yeah. Oh my gosh, everyone. Everyone. Now, of course. Yeah. David Arquette. Oh my gosh. You know what else is crazy? What the young gravy. Oops. VIDEO? Scream Yes, I know. I remember that. Yes, it was filmed in the house that Scream three was filmed at. I remember. Yeah, and it's so you were the one that told you, right? You clocked it. Yeah. And then we went and watchers like, Yes, that's the house. That's so awesome. It's so funny. How just scream brings everyone together, brings everyone together. OK, so what's next on your list? My next is the ring. OK. I had the ring. Oh my 04:58 or not like in numerical order. It's a toss up. It's really, you know, it's like, it's OK. So what's your what do you think I had on for number two? I put the original strangers. How you tell me I haven't seen it. So because I know you and I saw the new one and we just laughed about it. Yes, but the first one in theaters was bone chilling. Like it was so quiet of a movie that when there was a knock at the door or a pounding or something like a glass breaking, it literally shook the audience. And if you google it, it's it's literally listed as one of the scariest. Really, what year did that come out that had to have been probably around? I feel like it was like two thousand. Oh, wow. I think it was that long ago and when it came out, did you see it in theaters? Oh, yeah, OK, some theaters. Yeah, it was just very. It's not one of those movies it has, like the scary music that, you know, something's coming. It's like very natural in Liv Tyler's in this cabin or this. This country home is the same Christmas ish that people are. Yeah. So basically without giving anything away to any place. I mean, it only came out 20 years ago, and we haven't seen it like catch up. But no, yeah. So they go to this country home and it's the man and the woman that it's about. And they basically are in this home and like basically home invaders come and torture them throughout the entire evening. Mm-Hmm. And then something happened. Then something happened. But it's I mean, it's good. Like I said, it's they'll just be like in the kitchen, getting a glass of water and then something spooky will happen. So it's very unexpected jumps and scares. But it's also so realistic, which always makes something more scarier than the fake, the the monster, that kind of stuff. Yeah, that's, you know, the ring is what I have as number two. Yeah. However, I think in general, as a rule, when it comes to a scary movie, I'm not into ghosts or monsters or because I'm like, That's not real. And even if someone believes in ghosts, OK, but a ghost isn't going to do anything. They're not going to be like, Hey, f**k you. I'm going to throw a chair at you. So it's like, OK, yeah, but the ring is my number two because. It had that like element of like psychological like thriller to it. Yeah. And also like going back through and like when you find out about like Samara's story and like why she feels the way she feels and why she's doing. Yeah. Like, I really like that. And also, I guess I saw at an age where I kind of like Scream, I get really like, hit me at that time. Yeah. And you know, it's it is iconic. Any time someone says something's happening in seven days, you have to say you take a deep breath. Yeah. Well, honestly, the thing that sticks out. Any time anyone ever says the ring, my head goes immediately. You and I saw it in theaters. I don't know if you saw in theaters. Yeah. It's like the first five minutes of the movie, there's that they're at a funeral and they go to the mom and they're like, Oh, you know, did it happen or how did you find her? And out of nowhere it flashes to the girl and she was like on her bedroom floor by her closet or something. And you see her face, you know, and when it happens, then what happens her face and just cuts to it for like a three second flash? That's probably the one of the biggest jumps I've ever jumped in a movie because it was so unexpected. Yeah, it's like sad funeral. And it just flashes to that. And it. Yeah, I'll never forget that. Yeah, it was really, really well done. Mm-Hmm. There's actually a TikTok where someone's like spoofing as Samarra. Oh, really? I, you know, I think I have seen some like that, Alice, I'll send it to you. They're like, Yeah, you know, the recently like acting like they're like a tick tock or, oh god. Yeah, I haven't seen that one. I'll find a link. Yeah, because it is just so funny. And so it's so perfect. What's your next one? OK, well, it's funny, because now that I look at my list, I think there's been a lot of movies that have jumped out at me, but everything on my list is something that could happen for real. So that's why I like I think it made. So my next one, I don't know if you've seen this. It was actually on Netflix. It's called Hush. No. So it's about the premise is this deaf author is like out in the woods. She couldn't raged having writer's block. She goes away for the weekend to escape and, you know, focus on her writing. And there is a man that comes and kills the neighbor house, which is like a mile away. And then comes to her house and discovers that she's deaf. So he decides in the similar fashion of the strangers movie to torture her. Oh my god, for an hour and a half. He basically, you know, says, puts up a sign because, you know, she's deaf. I know you're tough. I'm going to come in the house, but I'm not going to tell you when I'm going to come in the house, oh my God, I saw the entire movie. It goes in perspective like you see him and then you're in her head and so you hear silence. And so it's a very creepy feeling, as throughout the whole movie, she's trying to decide, Do I just hide somewhere in the house? Do I try and get somewhere else in the house to know where he is and escape from the house? So it carries on throughout the whole movie? But it genuinely I mean, it was creepy and I didn't even see it on the big screen. It's not, I don't know. That does sound really scary. It was creepy. Wow. Yeah. I'm kind of like scared thinking about it like that would really f**king freak me out. I feel like to especially like things where you're like home alone and you're like, Did I hear or did I see something? And the fact that she can't hear it, she can't hear. So she's relying on her other senses to there's one scene with us without giving anything away that she faced times a friend and they're signing and the friend sees a figure behind her in the house and she looks and she's like, Oh, it's just the cat. I haven't found him. He's been running around. But it was actually the guy and he's like in the house. And she wasn't aware of his presence yet, but it's pretty creepy. You're going to watch that. Well, number one, let me think if I'm in her shoes. Number one, I would have security cameras already in the house. Well, that's the thing is, it's a renter because she went away for, Oh, that's right, she went away. It's not really her house, right? So she's not going to have. OK. I remind. Maybe I would. Oh, you only have one phone. Yeah, because I'd be like, I'll just face time all these people and then have them. But then how would you know, I don't assume I don't know all my devices all over the rental. Yeah. Well, different cameras and I have everybody on Zoom and then I'm on my phone and I can talk to everybody. Yeah. And then. No, I don't know what I would do. I'd be like, You have to watch a lot of twists and like crazy things. Yeah. So my next favorite is a movie called Werewolves Within. OK, a little bit of a different take. It's not as scary. I'm not scared watching it, but it was written, directed by one of my great friends, Josh Rubin, who stars Milana Vayntrub. And it is. The whole cast is incredible. I think he told me to watch that. Yeah, it's really great. OK. I certainly do. And it's a similar it's a similar premise in that an author goes away to write. And then there's just all kinds of like, there's something going on. It's a little bit of a whodunit. OK, so it's almost like a scary movie meets a little bit of a clue aspect to. And like the mystery of need to watch it. And then obviously there's there is a werewolf involved, but it's really it's really interesting. Well done. And it's almost like in its own genre, in a sense. Yeah, but I f**king love it. It sounds good. Yeah, I do love clue. It didn't make me listen. I do love a movie that's like while my other favorite scary movie after that is also reminiscent of a little bit of like, it's a whodunit. A little bit ish. OK. What is it? I love ready or not. Oh, I love ready or not. Yeah, yeah, that was really good. It's a whodunit in the sense of like, what is going on. It has that element of mystery. Hmm. And there are like funny parts to it. Oh yeah, I love that f**king little comedy horror. Like, yes, it's like spooky, but you laugh. It keeps you. Yeah. And then you're like, Don't kill that person. Yeah. You know, yeah, I love that movie. OK, well, my next one, I don't know if you ever since it's men, I think it's from it's probably the 70s or 80s, and I didn't find out about it until high school because they made a second one. The original was called when a stranger calls. Huh? I think I've heard of that. And then the second one when I was in high school, so probably they made for us, but it was called when a stranger calls back. And so that was the first one I watched, which was freaky. But then you go back and watch the first one, and it's just that classic tale of like babysitter in the house. Yeah, someone's calling from upstairs. But the way that it's shot, the way that it's done, and then the way that they evolved the man upstairs, it's horrifying. Who like to the point where I mean, this would be so old. I'm just going to uncover and surprise. Yeah, I think we could just buy this one if you just watch it either way. This made a little bit if you really don't want to know exactly. He wasn't upstairs. This is a man that used the physical attributes of the home and body painted himself like, Have you ever seen that where people like body being themselves like a brick wall or whatever and they were like in Garden City? And he sure is like, That's it's the wallpaper. Yeah. So it's like he did that and he would call and throw his voice and he would scare and attack like it's more than just like someone's calling from upstairs. Get out of the house. It's so much more than that. And it's just really, really creepy. Wow. Really creepy. Yeah, OK. I know the fifth one, I guess. Ironically, I said none of these had like spirits in them, but insidious. Hmm. I thought it was really good. And even like the sequels were good. I don't know. There's something about that franchise that I thought was shot really well, and just like the eerie idea of it was kind of unique. Mm-Hmm. Even though it was more of like the spirit type of personality movie. But yeah, I don't know something about that one, and I just I'll always remember that one, too. Lot of good like jumping scary things. Yeah, I mean, I guess I also, I have to say The Exorcist. Oh, well, yeah, classic. But I wouldn't say that. It's like I was scared, right? Because I don't believe in being possessed or ghosts. However. Part of me likes to think that, like she wasn't because she just was like, you just had a bad day. She doesn't like that. So yeah, but I mean, it is such a classic and I do think, well, you know, what else is really f**king freaky is. Have you seen Rosemary's Baby? I think so. I can see the. Yeah, I think the thing that they have in common is like the pacing of the movie itself is like, there are like. Periods of time that go by where there's not something scary happening, but it's like almost like instilling that creeped out feeling like in you. Right? That I think is like, so I have to check that I can't remember. I just thought of another movie I love, but I didn't have on my list. What birds? The birds? Yeah, that movie freaks me out like birds in real life, so I can't stand birds that freak me out. I listen. There's like some birds on TikTok that I like. They're like, We're doing, we need doing. And I'm like, That's so cute. Love that. Yeah. But like birds in like large mass numbers? No. Like, absolutely no way. Again, with the pacing of that movie, there's like that one time and she's like in the school and she's like trying to be like, Hey, guys, like some f**ked up just going on. And there's like one bird and then there's another bird. And then all of a sudden there's like so many f**king birds everywhere. Like that movie? Is it really f**king scares me? Yeah, and it's so funny to think like. How old it is, but it's like it's still it's just so f**king scary. Yeah. And it's just, you know, as time goes on to like, I can think of movies that I probably was scared in the moment years ago. And then now I'm like, How is that scary, right? Why is that scary to me? I remember when the remake original with Jessica Biel of Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Oh yeah, I like, loved it. It's like Scream. But I kind of had the like. You are attracted to these people and then they start getting murdered and you're like, What's happening? And then I was like, Oh, that was fun. I leave the theater and I remember seeing that movie when I lived in Omaha and I lived out in a new development, and we are by this huge field and tons of trees. So you're like, Oh, then this new brand new building I that I remember leaving the movie, coming home parking and thinking that someone was going to come out of the trees. And so, yeah, but now I'm like, stupid. Well, that's like the movie. Like The Hills have eyes. Oh yeah. Oh my f**king god. That movie has scarred me. That one of them like wrong turn. Oh jeepers, creepers. Yeah, my god, that s**t has me convinced that if I'm driving in the country and something happens and I have to like or like, you get a house of a thousand corpses or some s**t like that, I'm like, if I get a flat tire, I'm going to just drive on the f**king rim until I get to a place that's like legit, because I am because of those movies. I've been like, fully convinced that if I'm in the middle nowhere, somebody don't get out of your f**king car. No, no. I've become a movie yeller. Mike, what are you doing? Yeah, like in the car. Yeah, like, I truly like those movies have scarred me in that way. I am convinced that, like, there's some group of people that's just waiting for some s**t like that to happen. Yeah, it's and yeah, that's creepy. Yeah, it is creepy. I was just thinking of House of Wax. Oh my God, with Paris Hilton. Like some of those movies like, yeah, they're just like, Are they scary? No, but they're just like iconic for the time that they came out. Yeah. Like, this is wild. Yeah, some of them are fun. Yeah, no, I love it. Now we have to have like a we're going to have to have a night. A marriage is a marathon. Yeah, scary movie marathon. A lock in. Oh my god, we get everything like, that's how a scary movie stars. Yeah, we'll just make our own escape. All of a sudden people are like, Haven't seen Brad in a while. I'll be right back. Yeah, exactly. I love that. Exactly. Yeah, I mean, there's so many good ones. Yeah. Do you have a favorite memory? Spooky season memory. Honestly, ahead? Yeah. Yeah, I do. I mean, I mean Omaha. Well, no. At that time I was in Fargo. Oh, wow. So, yeah, so it feels like season all 100 percent Fargo had every season at its capacity. The most gorgeous falls, the coldest winters, the wettest springs. I mean, for us, I think I really love fog. Obviously, we know my birthday. October 30th. Brad Tyler, Brad Tober But having I mean, three of my siblings are Scorpios. I have a sister in the twenty eight. This is on the 29th and the 30th and we have a November 9th. So aside from just like the weather, all sorts of other things, as a kid, I just remember it being such a happy time because we are celebrating half of my siblings. Yeah, so it was a different birthday for each of us. My parents made it big productions. I remember one year my mom, his name was Skip Hunt. He was like a local clown and I invited my entire second grade class to my house and skip, like, threw me on his shoulders and did tricks. And I just have great memories, obviously, because that's the time of my birthday. But then as I got older and I started going into like my job and career, I love fashion. Mm-Hmm. Fall and winter is my favorite. Oh, my fashions, the best spring and summer to me. But we love the weather. But like, the clothes suck so well. I mean, look in the sun. I mean, I mean, I was like, I'm wearing fall clothes while I tried to force it, and then we got the biggest heatwave of all time. So I was like, I don't think it's working in Fargo. Do you guys have like. Because as someone who's from Florida. Yeah. And who didn't really like, but our capacity for seasons is long. Yeah. Did you guys have? Because what I see in movies is like, like corn mazes. Oh, all the time we had corn mazes we had. I mean, you could hide your entire body. I mean, your child size, obviously. But in piles of leaves, we were outside all the time and fall like, Oh my God, everything that you see in a typical movie or reading a book or see like in an ad for fall, that's literally what my childhood was. I was outside in the leaves pumpkins. I'm sorry. Cornucopia. I'm so jealous. I mean, I'm literally in Florida, where I'm from my town, Melbourne. It's so hot and humid year round, really, I mean, we do get a little bit of a break in the fall like there is that sort of like feeling. And I let's it is still my favorite like I might do love a Florida fall. Yeah, it does feel nice, but it is still warm enough and humid enough that like even if you have like pumpkins out, like if you carved pumpkin, you have like a or now. Yeah, it'll kind of go, it goes, it goes, Yeah. And it's so you're even in a position where like people don't have like a ton of Jacqueline, turns out more than a couple of days because it gets f**king just you could be out for over a month. Oh my God. I mean, because it would get so Chris and like and just keep my cool during the day. So yeah, and we don't have like. We have like pine trees, we don't have like all like pine trees and palm trees, like we don't have the leaves we don't have. And I mean, to be honest, I mean, we are lucky and plenty of other ways that we go to the beach whenever you want, of course. But like, that's one thing I a a size like watching movies and seeing all of the autumn stuff. And, you know, even there, it's like you just don't even really like get to really where a lot of sweaters, even, you know, you're like, maybe I'll put on like a cardigan over my jeans and flip flops, you know, like, you're still you're still living out Florida light. I bet. Yeah, that's so cool. I do remember, like, very specifically, one of my favorite Florida fall memories is just like it gets to that one. There's like all of a sudden it's like, it's so hot, it's so hot, it's so hot. And then one day you're like, Oh, I don't have the windows down on the car. And I remember it was around the time that do you remember when Mandy Moore came out with her album of covers? Oh, I think so. Yeah. So it was like, it was like. Also in there, like nothing but pennies in my pocket, you know, in my pocket era, and I just remember I was in my like freshman year of college, you're like at like or like right after graduating high school and driving around, having the windows down and listening to like Mandy Moore is a very soft voice with like, yeah, this like music and just thinking like a little breeze. And I was just like, This is the best. And like just trying to make the most of like a fall moment. But like again, it's nowhere near on that level. Yeah. And some of that stuff, I was like, It's just in movies. You're like, No, it's it's real. And I think that's what actually shapes like because there are people that argue, like we said earlier, file does not start until this and the summer solstice ends and blah blah blah. But when I lived in North Dakota, the middle of the United States, and we had defining seasons like clear defining seasons September, October and November, that's fall December followed January. It's winter. You know why? Because it's not fair that Christmas gets like legitimately now. It's it's way worse now. But I remember is like Christmas kick off is the day after Thanksgiving because it's like you have the Macy's Day Parade, right? Santa Claus comes at the end of the parade and you're like, Oh, it's Christmas. Yeah, but now it's like, there's no. I feel like now Christmas stuff comes out like the day after f**king Halloween, if not, if not before. And it's like, and then Halloween gets like, No love. So I'm like, No, it starts September 1st because Halloween deserves a full two month thing. If Christmas gets out, that Halloween gets. Absolutely. Otherwise, you're discriminating against my religion. Exactly. We will not stand for that. We will not stand for that. Yeah. Yeah, that's what's up. So yeah. Do you know you're going to be for Halloween this year? No, I don't. Well, well, I mean it. Spoil me. I don't. You want to like? Yeah, but you've had some iconic I've had some fun sucking costumes in the past year. I actually made a list of some of mine because I was gonna ask you about yours, obviously. Yeah. No, please, please. Well, last year for my birthday, I was the pope. That's right. And it might sound pretty boring if you're listening to this. But I actually went the distance and ordered like legitimate, which I don't know some people may not be so happy with, but legitimate wardrobe pieces because the costume department just wasn't doing it for me. So, yeah, I wanted it to look authentic, to be cool. Well, and also, Brad, you are a very tall person. Yes. So you at your height and then add in that the hat? Yeah, is. Yeah, it was. Yeah, I was. Definitely. I was definitely showing up tall about you. Yes. One of my favorites, though, was new guy, too. Yeah. Who got you at a time where it was before the new one? Yeah. Yeah. Before the New Zealander. Oh yeah, let's do that. Yeah, I just went blank. But it was at a time where, like Zoolander hit it like hit media. It was fun. Couple of years past, people kind of forgot, and I was like, I'm going to do that to you, and I have this sweater with the name in the cassette and the wig. So fine. What else did I do? I did. Haitis from Disney one year and was like a good one to that claim. I loved your Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Oh yeah, that was an off season. Halloween special child's birthday. Yeah. Yes. This is Disney haunted Disney birthday or yeah, whatever. That's right. That wasn't Halloween, but that was fun, too. But I did really like that. Yeah, I know, because again, it's like no one knew. OK, so for people listening, it was like an inflatable costumes. Yeah, so so no couple of those. Yeah, you've done a couple Pikachu as it gets you played. But what's so funny about those is that when you first walk up and you see it, you just see the character and you don't know who is inside. Right? And you've been also like what you're saying, like not telling people like what to expect. So seeing it, it's almost like it's even that funnier or like that more and finding out that I'm inside there. Yeah, it's I think, even, well, the Pikachu one I didn't tell anybody. I think I just showed up and like, was walking up to you guys and like, you'd have to like, peer into the mind of the whole. Yeah, yeah. But those are fun because they have a fan belt in and it keeps you cool. That's right. Yeah, but it's also hard to decipher. Sometimes we have a very costumed friend group, so we do. We do it all year round. That's right. We're trying to take spooky season to the whole twelfth calendar month. I would love that. Wait, what are some of your favorites that have you been? Oh my gosh, you've had some really good ones. I have. Thank you. Yes. Well, in college, I feel like I was very committed to the like, the sexy the the sexy that which I was in college. Yeah, I should be going to the sexy Halloween page. I feel like I should be. But one year I did really commit to like I did like a Playboy Bunny, and so I got one that really looked kind. I like the classic one with the little cuff son. At the time, I just had like natural nails and I like went and got a French manicure. Acrylics, like based on like felt photos I saw like because I was like, I want it to look like for real. Yeah. And I like watch videos on how they did the little like putting down the napkins. I don't know. I think a lot of it was like, I didn't need to worry about all that. Like, no one was caring, but it was fine. And then I feel like some of the ones that I've really enjoyed, I did Nicki Minaj one year, and so it was back when she was she was in her super bass era. OK, so I had like, I think it was like the pink wig. And again, I did like a corset. You know, picture that it's I feel like it was back when I had like a BlackBerry. So the pictures are very like low light. You're like, is I like what's going on? Nicki Minaj Yeah, yeah. But yeah, I copied a look from, yeah, she had the pink hair, and that was a really fun one. That's fine. And then recently, I really loved when I was literally frozen. Oh yeah. So basically, I went, I was so good. I yeah. And I was shocked at how well it turned out because I kind of was just winging it. I just I basically got this outfit from trashy lingerie. They do. You make really nice costumes? Yeah. And it was supposed to be like an Elsa thing, and I was like, Yeah, I don't want to be Elsa. Sorry to anyone listening who's a frozen fan, but I f**king hate that movie. And those are my she's my least favorite princess. I mean, I guess I like her story has a good story about, like the movie. I don't connect with it. Yeah. So people would be like, Are you awesome? Like, No. And so then I went and got all this like blue and silver and grey makeup. And I basically I I don't know, I just found makeup and I did like contouring like I went all the way down to my shoulders. Yeah, because I was like, I wanted to look like I was actually an ice queen. Like, I see frozen, I'm blue. Your makeup was really good. I remember and I sat in the old apartment on the floor and did that for like two hours and it somehow worked out. And I was I was very shocked how well it turned out. Of course, Tom put me on to the like the contacts thing because I was always like, also, I used to wear contacts when I worked at Disney. Mm-Hmm. And I would hang out with, like certain characters at Disney. Like I would have to wear contacts to hang out with them because my eyes are green and their eyes are not. Yeah. And so I was somehow able to do it better then. But now it's like, really f**king like, like, I cry at her. I'm like, I hate this, I just don't like it. And so he was like, You know, if you do a costume like it is something that really kind of like takes it to that next level. Yeah. So I went with the contacts on that one. And it really it's like when you have those, when you have white eyeballs, black, white, it's like, it's f**king whoa. Like, yeah, it's very impactful, very impactful. And then I feel like I really just liked doing Catwoman. Oh, that's fun. Yeah, it was. I liked it because I wanted to do like that Michelle Pfeiffer kind of version. Yeah, not the newer versions. I did love your share, though. To share it was fun. Share my time. Share. Oh, good. I know I did like that one. I had to do two wigs. I remember that to get the height and like the baby. Like, yeah, the big hair. Because I was looking at like videos of her and I was like, she was so much hair. Yeah, I was like the only I put on one wig and I was like, It just looks like normal. Yeah, but yeah, two wigs. Have you brainstormed at all for this year? I have a little bit. OK, I have to. Oh, you know. Oh yeah, I have brainstormed. I'm kind of excited about it, but part of me is like, Is it too easy? OK, but then part of me is like, why make life more difficult for yourself? Yeah. I mean, the thing is is like the times where I felt like I was the happiest was, I mean, yeah, it's fun to put work into a costume and have a really great outcome. But thinking of something that maybe everybody's forgotten or can relate with that you can still put together like, I mean, you got to was so easy, but that was really one of the wildest nights I had. People were coming out to me that I didn't even know, asking for photos like, Oh my god, muigai, do we have to take a picture with you? And I was just like, OK, you know, I didn't know what the impact was going to be when I wore it out. But yeah, it's fun to to keep it simple or also put a lot of work into it. Yeah. Or something. Yeah, like what you're saying, like something that is maybe easy to do or think of, but like people immediately or yeah, exactly. Oh, like when? OK, so Tom and I, when we did the cyber goth ravers. Oh, under the bridge. From the meme, from the meme. Yes, I do love. Do I like doing a meme costume? Yeah. And at the time, that meme was very like, prevalent. I suppose that's I mean, yeah, I mean, it's iconic. Yeah. And so we gave them names. We gave them back stories and they were based off of two people that we literally. We saw in the video, yeah, and that was really fun, but it was one of those things that people didn't recognize us, they didn't know who we were and friends of ours. You know, we went to this party downtown. And after the fact, we went to the nightclub that I was bartending at. And I texted and they knew I was like, Guys, we are dressed in costume. I don't know if anyone else is in costume. It is the night before Halloween. Yeah. And they were like, I mean, there's a couple of you're in costume, but not really. It's more just regular. And I was like, Well, whatever, we want to come by, we're coming. Yeah. And people just they did not recognize us. They were like, There's no f**king way. I remember that because I think we were with you guys before you went downtown. Yeah. I can't remember where we were, but yeah, it didn't look like you. But it was so good. Yeah, it was so bad. Yeah, I love it. Well, Brad, is there any sort of like, you know, I know that we said we're not going to put like spooky bops. Yeah, on the regular ultimate request line. Yeah, but there might be some crossover here. Yeah, I've like a spooky bob, but also works within the realm of. The coastline, actually, because we stand Meg, the science, we do stand, make the city listen to our new album. Yes, there's the new one that she has with Rico Nasty. Yes, the scary one I can remember. It's called, Oh, I know I could look. It's good. It has like a creepy vibe, and I think it's a great crossover scene. Scary really wracked my brain for that one. But yeah, it's good. Yeah, that could be a great. That's good. So we're going to do that. It's going to go on the playlist. I'm going to request for myself just because we did mention it earlier, and it is one of my favorite spooky albums. Well, there's actually two versions. There's turn off the light volume one and turn off the light that came out two years after that. Kim Patris, the song I would like to add to the ultimate request line has demons, demons. That's a good one. It's great. So that's that's that's my ad. I think we also have to just shout out one of our favorite movies this time of year. Hmm. Nightmare before Christmas. Yeah, it counts as a spooky movie. It counts as a spooky movie. I know some people were like, That's a Christmas movie. You know what, though? I think the whole point is that it's both. Yeah, and I think that's the perfect crossover from spooky season into holiday season. And I f**king stand Jack Skellington. Yep, he's so hot. So sexy. He's sexy, sexy skeleton. Yes, I have like a very weird like, I think skeleton makeup is like sexy. I don't know why. I have always wanted to do it like one night for just like a random off thing. Like, yeah, main costume. Like when there's like the four parties that we yeah. Yeah, yeah. But I just I don't think I ever have. I don't know. I don't know if I could do it myself. I'd have to like, say more as a technique to it. Mm hmm. Where you have to either it's like you do the you do the white first. I think you but you have to be careful not to do it overlap because then it'll be gray. Oh, yeah, but there's a way to do it. There's there's some sort of like tips and tricks of the trade of doing a skeleton makeup. I wonder if you do like your outlines first and then fill in things piece by piece. I don't know smart, actually. I've never tried. Well, maybe this year, maybe this year, the year we should have a skeleton party. Yeah. OK, wait. It's a bad man's party. Who could ask for more? Yeah, spooky. Well, since you all have dragged your dead bodies to the podcast to listen, hopefully you drag your bodies to the parties this year. And yeah, I feel like I've you killed it. You are spooky. Wow. All right. Boo, b***h. Ooh, I bet. Thank you so much for listening. You can catch a new episode of Earth to Arianna every Tuesday.
